Inclement Weather TOMORROW MORNING (Please Read)
Good evening!
I am actively monitoring the incoming severe weather scheduled to come in our area tomorrow morning. There will be a tornado/severe thunderstorm risk associated with the front that will come through. I have talked with Liberty County Emergency Management, Meteorologist Chris Smith, and other area Superintendents about the timing of this weather in the morning. Some have already, in the central time zone, declared a delayed start of school tomorrow of 2 hours. That may not bid well for us in the Eastern time zone “if” the front is delayed getting here. A 2 hour delay for us might put us right in the middle of the bad stuff during bus pickups. With all that being said, I will monitor the weather throughout the night and if we need a delayed start, I will let you know as soon as possible. There is a great possibility the most severe weather doesn’t arrive until 9-10am. At this point, we are just guessing. Please be patient as we navigate the next few hours into the morning and I will post timely updates on ParentSquare and my personal Facebook page. I’ll be in touch!
Sincerely,
Kyle Peddie
Liberty County Superintendent of Schools
